*Nota: De este disco existe también una rara y apreciadísima edición limitada en digipak con una portada hecha de piel de vaca.
La asociacion protectora de los animales levanto la voz ante la tapa del disco, donde aparece la ubre de una vaca con piercing, e intentaron procesar a los chicos malos de Boston.
La banda con la ironia que los caracteriza dijo que a la vaca fue anestasiada antes de colocarle el piercing, luego recibio una recuperacion en un hospital, todo para que la vaca entre a la moda.
Como todos saben la portada de "Get a Grip" fue un fotomontaje y no existio ningun maltrato a ningun animal.
Las primeras 5 canciones grabadas para el disco fueron: Fever, Eat the rich, Crazy, Get a grip y Amazing.
Para la gira promocional de Get a Grip la banda quebro un total de 100.000 cuerdas de guitarra, utilizando aproximadamente 59 guitarras por show!!!
El numero total de shows realizados durante la gira fueron de 224.
Steven Tyler prentendia que el disco se llamara "Pitbulls on crack", pero Liv, Mia y Joe Perry lo convencieron que Get a Grip era el indicado.

*Seguramente la portada mas polemica de Aerosmith, la original constaba de la Diosa Hare Krisna con cabeza de gato danzando entre serpientes, los creyentes de diosa se irritaron al creer que la banda estaba desprestigiando a la diosa colocandola en una tapa de un disco y peor si se trataba de una banda de rock. Steven Tyler denuncio a la organizacion Hari Krisna por lucrar con la divulgacion gratuita del CD. El problema fue tan grande que Aerosmith cambio la portada por la de un gato atado a una ruleta de la muerte. Nine Lives tubo distintas ediciones para diversas partes del mundo, diferenciadas principalmente por dos temas: Falling Off y Fall Together. En Japon estos dos temas estaban incluidos, en Sudamerica y Europa solamente Falling Off, mientras que en Estados Unidos ninguno de las dos canciones aparecian en el disco. Este album fue relanzado en 1999 con el tema "I don't want to miss a thing". El tour de Nine Lives, en america del norte, ocupo 142 shows en 43 semanas para un publico de 2.420.329 personas, mientras que en Europa fueron 20 shows en 6 semanas para 314 mil personas.

**Este disco contiene temas en vivo de las dos ultimas giras pertenecientes a "Get a Grip" y "Nine Lives". Los temas fueron elejidos antes del inicio del tour promocional de "Nine Lives", la banda escogio un total de mas de 30 canciones para el disco grabadas en 1994 durante los shows de "Get a Grip" pero solo les permitieron colocar 23. El disco fue lanzado el dia 20 de Octubre de 1998 en Estados Unidos. Dias antes, el 17, el CD fue lanzado on-line en vivo y directo en PNC Bank Arts Center en Homdel, New Jersey. Fue la primera transmision realmente interactiva atravez de internet.
